An Episode from Teacher Life

My Precious ❤

Two grade 8 chaps seemed to disagree on something and came up to me in the staffroom for clarification.
"Ma'am, does the word Phuket begin with a capital letter?" asked the short one. 
"Of course, as it is a proper noun", I explained softly.
The tall one, equally cute, gave a "Told you" look of triumph and left.

I smiled to myself.
After today's English test, both ran to me with the question paper. 
"Ma'am, is 'trapped' the antonym of 'free'?" asked the tall one.
"Yes it is", I replied.
"But the word 'caged' was also in the passage", said the short one in disbelief. 
"Both words are correct", I said.
The tall one reacted with a heavy heart, "I'd written both but struck one".😧
"Either of the two words is sufficient", I said reassuringly, hoping to brighten the distraught souls.
This answer lit his face and they sprinted back for lunch. The school hall echoed their laughter.
It gave way to waves of happiness in my heart.

What is the term for this swelling joy in me to see such innocent doubts? Trivial ones, yet precious.
I can only stumble upon the clichéd usage 'cuteness overload'.
Blessed to be a teacher.

  I await here for my husband-cum-travel companion to pick me from school. Twilight colors are spreading slowly. Birds signal one another that it’s time to settle down in their tiny nests. Or, are they reminding me to head back? May be. I’m only faintly swayed by the chilly wind, for today I’ve not forgotten my sweater. I had been waiting in the Administrative block of MG University since morning to get my equivalency certificate. I helplessly joined the band of commoners who were at the mercy of busy officers. Three hours had lapsed. But there was no sign of getting my paper signed. Technology was equally helpless in rescuing me from the boredom that set in. The block seemed to have some kind of aversion to the much popular Reliance Jio network (if you know, you know 😀). There were other people like me who waited on the benches. Some were accompanied by babies whose innocent smiles came as a fresh ray of sunshine as I combated ennui. REVIEW OF THE NETFLIX SERIES 'ANNE WITH AN E'

‘Anne with an E’mpact  I sit here, mesmerized of the experience rendered by the Netflix series ‘ Anne with an E ’, a brilliant adaptation of the classic novel ‘ Anne of Green Gables ’ by Lucy Maud Montgomery. The book published way back in 1908 is meant for all ages despite the given classification ‘Children’s Literature’, or why would a 32ish me still go gaga over it? I am unsure if you would deem me unfit for a review if I told you that I’ve only watched the series and not read the book. Nevertheless, I am here pouring out my heart’s content for I’m profoundly touched by the series and feel at a loss that it ended. Anne with an E. We are talking about the title character Anne Shirley played to perfection by Amybeth  who was orphaned at the tender age of 3 months. She is the live wire of the entire series.
